Leszek Markuszewski – a true “Renaissance man”: painter, visual & conceptual artist, designer, architect and art theorist. Co-founder of La Grupa; runs La Galeria (Milanówek/Warsaw). Works within abstraction.
Leszek Markuszewski (b. 1981, Milanówek) bridges painting with visual and conceptual art, design, architecture and theory. He co-founded the artistic formation La Grupa and actively animates the local art scene.
Graduate of the Academy of Fine Arts in Warsaw, Faculty of Painting (studies 2003–2008; diploma 2009 with Prof. Marek Sapetto). Diploma annex in textile art under Prof. Dorota Grynczel; theory paper with Prof. Wojciech Włodarczyk, “What is art?”.
Since 11 March 2022 he has been exhibiting and running educational & pro-social programmes at La Galeria (Milanówek, ul. Dworcowa 2/2) – an open creative and exhibition space. A Warsaw venue is in preparation (ul. Wilcza 2/4).
Markuszewski develops abstraction and non-narrative visual art across media: painting, drawing, spatial forms, installation, happenings and design. Process, place and audience interaction are central.

La Galeria is an open art space in Milanówek (ul. Dworcowa 2/2), hosting exhibitions, talks and community-driven education. The programme emphasises experiment, process and audience dialogue, with a strong focus on abstraction and non-narrative visual art. A Warsaw venue (ul. Wilcza 2/4) is in preparation.
