Lech Majewski – graphic designer, poster artist, illustrator and book designer – and a guitarist by passion. He excels in editorial and advertising design, yet the poster remains his core medium. Signature style: flat vivid colour, cut-out lettering, and geometric signs/ornaments.
Lech Majewski is a leading Polish poster artist whose works combine clarity of message with musical rhythm of form. He champions the poster as a “precise record of place, time and event”. His hallmark: flat, saturated colours, paper-cut typography and geometric iconography. As an educator he urges students to find their own voice: technology is a tool, not a substitute for talent.
Born in Olsztyn; graduate of the Academy of Fine Arts in Warsaw (diploma under Henryk Tomaszewski). Professor at the Warsaw ASP (Poster & Editorial Design Studio). Runs his own graphic and music studio; honorary member of STGU.
Considered one of the guardians of the International Poster Biennale in Warsaw: member of the Programme Council, multiple Chair of the Organising Committee. Since 2018, after the Biennale moved to the Academy, he serves as its President. Jury member of numerous poster competitions.
