Tomasz Ososiński

Tomasz Ososiński (b. 1975) – author, translator of German literature, literary scholar and artist working with linocut. Winner of numerous literary and translation awards, lecturer at the University of Łódź.

Tomasz Ososiński combines academic, literary and artistic work. At the University of Łódź he teaches German literature and literary translation. In art, he is fascinated by linocut, creating works that belong to contemporary art.

• Specialization: incunabula, editing of neo-Gothic manuscripts
• Translator of German literature – including R.M. Rilke, G. Benn, P. Celan, E. Jelinek, J. Wagner
• Currently preparing an anthology of contemporary German women poets and a selection of Jan Wagner’s poems

• 2013 – Five Fairy Tales: award at the Golden Mean of Poetry competition, nomination for the Silesius Prize
• 2020 – Andersen’s House: 1st Prize in the Author’s Book Competition in Świdnica, nomination for the Orpheus Prize
• Winner of many awards for literary translation, incl. 1st Prize at the Puls Literatury Festival
• Scholarship holder of S. Fischer Stiftung and Literarisches Colloquium Berlin
