Mariusz Woszczyński. Professor of Fine Arts (2015), painter and educator at the Academy of Fine Arts in Warsaw. Since 2005 he has run an independent Drawing & Painting Studio at the Sculpture Department. Expressive 1980s idiom, genre scenes and landscapes (stage- and zone-based), Borderlands cycle; catalogues “Figures & Landscapes” (2010), “Journey” (2021).
Mariusz Woszczyński (b. 1965, Warsaw) graduated from the Faculty of Painting, ASP Warsaw (1985–1990). Diploma with distinction under Prof. Rajmund Ziemski, printmaking annex under Prof. Rafał Strent. Since 2005 he has headed an independent Drawing & Painting Studio at the Sculpture Department; earlier assistant to Prof. Teresa Pągowska. Professor of Fine Arts since 2015.
PhD (2000) “Figures and Landscapes”, habilitation (2008) “Borderland Landscapes” at ASP Warsaw. International studies: Ecole d’Art et Architecture, Marseille (1992–1993); Kunstakademie Düsseldorf (1994–1996); La Cambre & RHoK, Brussels (1998). In 2013–2015 he ran a studio at the Institute of Art Education, APS Warsaw.
Expressive brushwork on light grounds; line fused with colour patches. Landscapes avoid linear perspective, building space through stage-like and zonal composition. Southern vistas carry a Mediterranean note (vivid accents, palms, antique architecture).
