Bartłomiej Martens is a painter and architect whose practice centers on abstract art and the dialogue between figuration and abstraction. His canvases investigate color, form and spatial structure, informed by his architectural background.
Biography & Education
Born on 25 November 1971 in Lublin. He graduated from the Faculty of Architecture at the Warsaw University of Technology. From the outset of his studies he developed painting, first exhibiting at the Faculty of Architecture and later in art galleries in Poland and abroad.
Artistic Approach
Individual explorations across figurative and abstract painting, with frequent cross-overs between the two realms. Martens combines compositional discipline with intuitive color, creating works with pronounced spatial tension.
