Anna Kordowicz-Markuszewska – painter & architect. Post-abstract, conceptual roots; research on color, form and light; non-narrative compositions with pure visual impact.
Anna Kordowicz-Markuszewska’s work grows from impressionism, post-impressionism and early 20th-century European/American abstraction, with a strong conceptual affinity. She explores the psychological effect of color, form, light, sign and symbol, seeking a direct encounter between artwork and viewer—free from narrative guidance.
After discarding subject matter and description, color–form–light acquire a new dimension. Her canvases operate as a laboratory of composition, inviting the viewer into a painterly labyrinth—a meticulous process of letting the image permeate the mind.
