Painting “Roots of the Secret” – Beata Walczak
“Roots of the Secret” is a 100 × 80 cm acrylic painting on canvas in which Beata Walczak creates a poetic and symbolic scene. At the centre sit two young women surrounded by tall leaves: one in a striped T-shirt, the other in a light dress. Leaning close, one whispers a secret while the other listens with a thoughtful expression.
The upper part of the painting is filled with a dense jungle of leaves, branches and colourful trunks, where white birds wander among the foliage. The lower zone reveals a network of roots and an underwater-like green darkness. This division into an “above ground” and “underground” world reinforces the title’s metaphor – secrets take root deep below the surface, linking what is visible with what is hidden.
Walczak’s characteristic contemporary illustrative style, decorative leaf patterns and vivid turquoise, green and violet tones give the work a fairy-tale yet modern character. “Roots of the Secret” makes a captivating focal point for a living room, bedroom or creative workspace, bringing an atmosphere of intimacy, storytelling and imagination.
