“Transitions 1” is a 2020 work by Andrzej Maląg, created using his unique interference photo-graphic technique. The artist uses the wave nature of light as a creative medium, achieving striking visual compositions.

Inspiration & symbolism

The work is inspired by fantastic cosmology and depicts a quantum transition between the “upper” and “lower” states. In another interpretation, it can be seen as a suggestion of a spacetime portal. It is a strong example of magical realism.
