Modesta Gorol is a visual artist based in Wrocław, working primarily in fine art printmaking and painting. Her artistic practice focuses on intaglio techniques such as etching and aquatint, which she uses to build narratives suspended in two-dimensional space. Her works explore imagined worlds, spaces between observation and dream, and subtle relationships between nature, memory and emotion.
She graduated from the Eugeniusz Geppert Academy of Art and Design in Wrocław, where she earned her Master’s degree in fine art printmaking in 2024 in the studio of Professor Przemysław Tyszkiewicz and Agata Gertchen. She also completed studies at the Karol Lipiński Academy of Music in Wrocław. This musical background strongly shapes her artistic language. On her website, she notes that sound and her experience with classical music are important sources of inspiration and support her collaborations with musicians in interdisciplinary art projects.
Modesta Gorol’s work can be described as a poetic exploration of the imagination. She creates visual stories and invented spaces in which reality blends with intuition, symbolism and suggestion. Her artistic language is rooted in the precision of printmaking, while remaining open to experimentation, illustration and creative graphic work.
Her portfolio includes numerous exhibitions in Poland and abroad, including Wrocław, Gliwice, Katowice, Dresden, Tokyo, Knoxville and Lviv. Among her notable achievements are an honorary distinction at the 12th Polish Printmaking Triennial in 2024 and the Rector’s Award at the “Grafika semestru” exhibition in 2023.
